3-minute timed bath today

Water is becoming a scarce commodity. We have to save water for our own survival and for the survival of the planet. Reducing water usage reduces the energy required to process and deliver to homes, which, in turn, helps reduce pollution and conserve fuel resources. It saves money.

It is surprising to know that for each liter of drinking water processed in RO, three liters of water is wasted, which is 75%, so, if a typical family consumes 30 liters of drinking water per day then they are wasting 90 liters of water per day which is 32,850 liters water per year. Start using this waste water for washing clothes, gardening, washing utensils, in washroom, etc. As per one study, per capita per day consumption of water in India is 165 liters. Out of this, we use 27% water for bathing, 20% for flushing, 9% for basin, 21% for cleaning utensils, 18% for washing clothes and 4% for other small works.

Common Indian uses 57% of total water consumed per capita in a year in bathroom, which happens to be 34,328 liters. There is a huge potential of saving water in bathroom by following few best practices. Turn off the tap while you brush your teeth. Use glass or bowl for shaving or brushing teeth. Take shorter shower. Use bucket instead of showers as it minimizes wastage of water. Also flushing in toilet can be avoided by developing habits of pouring water for toilet cleaning. In Jainism it is advisable to use only filtered water through a cloth, therefore, adopting this practice will help you further saving of water.
