Donate an item today

It is about giving up one item from our belongings, every day. We live in a world where there is significant disparity in income and affordability. While one is living in plenty, the others are living in scarcity. As per a study we won’t use 75% of the clothes kept in our cupboard ever. Imagine the difference we can make by donating these items to the needy.

Apart from the joys that donations bring, they also have a significant environment-impact. By donating, one reduces the demand for that product which in turn reduces its carbon footprint. Jainism places great emphasis on Aparigraha (do not possess anything extra) and Anukampa (to help the needy), as a way of life. Donating to the needy is a way of implementing these principles in our lives and also contributing to the cause of the environment Giving back to the community or donation takes on different meanings for different people. To some, it can be simply volunteering while for others, it could mean making financial donation. No matter what form it takes, the act of giving involves letting go. This practice of detachment, or Aparigraha, is one of the core pillars of Jainism.
